Low Back

Low back pain is felt around the waist, buttocks or hips, it may travel into the legs. Low back pain varies from a dull ache, burning pain or a sharp pain. The pain may be present constantly or just on certain movements or positions.

Lower back pain can originate from the lumbar spine (the last 5 vertebra), the sacrum, coccyx, pelvis and hips. It can often involve nerve compression or pinching.

Establishing the cause your low back pain is an important part of the Chiropractic examination, causes of lower back pain include bulging discs, trauma to the joints, muscle strain, vertebral fractures, spine arthritis.

Chiropractic treatment of back pain occurs following assessment to determine which levels of the spine are involved and the muscles affected. The joints in the spine may create a clicking sound when they are adjusted, this a normal sound and is created by the release of a tiny air bubble from within the joint.
